Partners Resource Network; Rene'e Turk will speak about Transition Requirements as it pertains to the ARD/IEP and the Transition process, what is the intent of transition and where you and your child fits.

There will be three breakout session you will be able to choose one to attend.

Selfdetermined.org is hosting another two-day training.

Monday, July 21:
9:00 AM - 12:00 PM - follow-up session with our local Focus Persons from the training in May.

1:00 PM - 4:00 PM - planning session for state and local communities and agencies. They will explore the principles of self-determination and what can be done now....and long-range planning.

Tuesday, July 22:
9:00 AM - 4:00 PM - training on helping people with disabilities to create meaningful circles of support. They will also explore creating opportunities to build community membership and develop activities based on interests and personal goals.

ASSET has started a bowling league at Megaplay USA, in Port Arthur.

We will meet the Saturday after each monthly meeting.

We start bowling at 11:00 a.m. the cost is $7.00 per child. We will bowl two games. A drink and a snack is included.

Our next game is Saturday July 12, 2008. We will bowl once a month and will end in November with a party for all the kids who joined in.

Speaker: John Pat White II, will be discussing ABA and Insurance

John Pat, will be taking you through the process of how he was able to get Insurance to cover our son's Full time ABA treatment. Please come prepaired and ready to take plenty of notes. This 19 page handbook is a perfect way for your child's teacher and others to know about your child. Inside you will find

On Saturday, June 19, 2008, from 10:00 a.m. until close.

ASSET will pay for child with Autism and one adult.  Additional tickets can be purchased for $17.95 each.  We are scheduled to arrive at 10:00 a.m. Each person will be able to go to 4 attractions of your choice.  For more information on attractions visit www.moodygardens.com.  June 15 is the last day to let us know if you are going and how many tickets you will need, additional tickets have to paid for in advance.  If you would like to caravan please let us know.  Contact us by emailing -email- or call 409-727-5100.
